Is it okay to register for my wedding if this is my second wedding?
Question:
Is it okay to register for my wedding if this is my second wedding?
Will it be okay to set up a bridal registry?
Answer:
Yes, it is okay, if you need household items. Unfortunately, most
people feel that it is not etiquette to register if this is a
bride’s second wedding; however, this is not true. The reason a
bride and/or couple register in the first place is so they may
receive gifts that will help them establish their home. These items
may be pots & pans, an iron, linens, toaster, towels, etc.
I always suggest that you may not necessarily want to register for
household items for a second wedding but instead register for a
honeymoon or other household items that you and your fiancé do not
have and keep it to a minimal. Some second wedding brides prefer
money; if you would rather receive money then I would suggest that
you do not register at all and have your wedding party, friends, and
family spread the word that the couple would rather receive cash
gifts.
Remember, this is your day and completely your choice if you want to
register for gifts or not!! Don’t forget the thank you cards!
