How to Make Your Wedding a Truly Memorable One
Weddings are sometimes achingly similar: let’s face it. When you’ve been to one wedding, you’ve pretty much seen them all. The flowers, the dress, the music – all typically similar and generic. If you want your wedding to stand out in the minds of your guests, you need to try to be as unique and original as possible. The little details are the things that will make your guests think, ‘wow!’. Here’s how to personalise your big day and make it truly memorable:
Marry Abroad
One way to make your wedding stand out against the rest is to marry abroad rather than in the UK. Weddings hosted in hot countries are usually very special affairs. Obviously there are some things to consider; some people may not be able to come to your special day, and special arrangements will have to be made. There are a variety of places you could choose to go: the Maldives, Italy, New Jersey – use your imagination and choose a place that reflects your interests as a couple. Wherever you go, you’ll want to make some wedding arrangements over there. If you were planning on marrying in New Jersey, you could look at wedding limo services by Bergen Limo. Even if you only have a small amount of family and friends with you, you’ll have an amazing day!
Write an ‘About the Wedding Party’ Section on The Reception Table

Many people won’t know anything about your wedding party, so it’ll be a nice touch. You could either write something to go in your wedding program guide, or leave something for everyone to read on the reception table. For example, why don’t you inform the other guests of how you and your best friends know each other? Include funny stories!
Assign Table Numbers by Age
To make your tables a little more interesting, assign table numbers by age and then place some photos of you and your spouse on the table at that age. For example, on table 18 you could put a picture of each of you on your 18th birthdays. On table 3 you could include photos of you both as toddlers.
Make a Fun Playlist
Make a fun playlist for the wedding, full of songs you know everyone will like. Simply leaving the DJ to his own devices could mean having to dance to cheesy pop songs like The Macarena and Saturday Night. Include a few of your favourite songs as a couple, and songs that will get everyone up and dancing. You could even include your parent’s wedding song, and any married friends/family members wedding songs as a nice nod to them!
Have Memorable Photo Opportunities
Why not have a fun photo booth at your reception? You’ll get a load of funny, unique pictures to pop in your album, and you’ll smile when you look back.
Spice Up Your First Dance
Check out Youtube for videos of unique first dances, and then start practicing! Customise your first dance to show off your personality as a couple.
The steps above will definitely get your guests talking – don’t blend in with the generic wedding, have an amazing day that’s customised to suit you!
