Yellow Rose Wedding Invitation – DIY Wedding Craft Project
You will need:
White blank card and envelope
Yellow paper rose with stem
Gold wire
Small yellow beads
Pearl yellow paper
Cream handmade paper
Computer with printing facilities
White paper
Gold letter peel-offs
Double sided tape
Glue dots
Scissors
Wire cutters
To make the invitation:
1. Curl the top of a piece of the gold wire into a swirl.
2. Wrap the wire around the top of the rose stem, add a yellow bead onto the wire and twist it around the rose stem a little more as shown in the picture.
3. Continue adding beads as you twist the gold wire down the whole length of the rose stem.
4. Cut a rectangle from the pearl yellow paper and using the gold peel-offs spell out wedding invitation.
5. Tear a rectangle of the handmade paper slightly larger than the greeting and stick this and the greeting to the centre of the blank card.
6. Using the glue dots stick the yellow rose to the top right of the greeting and bend the stem towards the left as shown.
7. Using word processing software, change the page layout to landscape and the page size to A5. Create two columns and write your invitation details in the right column.
The layout for the invitation I have used is:
Mr. And Mrs. Brides parents surname request the pleasure of your company at the marriage of their daughter
Brides name to Mr. Grooms name son of Mr. and Mrs. Grooms parents surname at time on date month year At place. Followed by a reception at Place.
All text in bold will be replaced by your personalized information. (You can find many other examples of how to word your invitation on the Internet. Read our Wedding Invitation Wording Ideas for some more ideas).
8. Print out the invitation onto white paper and cut to size so that you have a rectangle with the text down the left side. Fold in half and using double sided tape stick a strip down the back along the centre fold. This will be enough to hold your insert into place.
