Stag Weekends – Great Traditional and Not so Traditional Ideas
The end of days has arrived and it’s time for the stag party – well maybe we’re being a little extreme, however that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t give your best friend a last hurrah into married life. For those of us in the UK midlands, it can often a little tougher deciding on what’s the best way to go about making those final few days memorable (or not). So, here are some tips to make it special.
Clay Pigeon Shooting
Removing the need to draw blood from another living creature, yet allowing you and the gang to play with live ammunition can be a great way to create camaraderie. There are a number of great spots in the UK that will allow you to handle a shotgun during the stag weekend.
Paintballing
Of course, if you’re not so trusting or eager on shotgun cartridges on a stag weekend, then paintballing can be a great alternative for those looking to ready, aim and fire. Most paintball courses offer people a number of free paintballs with the option to add more. It’s the perfect way to show your army prowess and afterwards you can just upload and fire the remaining pellets at the future groom – because you’re nice like that.
Go Karting
Most paintball centres tend to draw into the go-karting area too – we’re not sure why but that’s the way it is. Paintballing and go-karting together can make a great mix and although both are very masculine pastimes, both are also very different. In fact, from experience we can tell you the person who triumphs at one doesn’t necessarily do so at the other.
Golf Days
For the seniors who golf, and the more leisurely fellas among us, there’s always the option of a golf day and if the man at hand is that bit more gentlemanly and demure then he’ll probably be happy with a round with his mates – some of whom may not have ever played before giving the groom a winning send off into married life.
Of course, such activities are perfect for during the day – however the night time can be a different story and there are a number of traditional and non-traditional alternatives.
Traditional Alternatives
For those looking for the traditional stag night out, local cities offer the perfect opportunity for anything from going to the pub, nightclub, the casino or a strip club. It’s the ideal opportunity to show the gent in question what he’ll be missing after his last night of freedom. Of course, it depends on the person at hand and while some will be delighted with a night out on the town, others will prefer an alternative.
One increasingly popular night out is the zombie boot camp – simply the group or members of the group are chased by a number of mock zombies. It’s a bit of centre but its amazing fun and surprisingly frightening. Another common alternative after dark activity is the mock hostage situation. Here the party holds and tries to rescue other members of their party after dark under the instruction of people with professional experience in this area. Werewolf hunting and riot training experience are also after dark options too – and quite exciting ones at that.
These are just some of the pretty exciting ways you could potentially spend your stag and certainly food for thought. Just make sure to tie him to a lamppost.
